MILWAUKIE ACADEMY OF THE ARTS

The mission of the Milwaukie Academy Of The Arts (MAA) is to integrate
the performing and visual arts throughout the academic core curriculum in
a nurturing environment, together with parents and community, empowering
students to reachtheir innate intellectual, artistic, and creative potential,
and ensuring that they earn a North Clackamas School District diploma.  

Our philosophy is that the arts are conducive to powerful learning, and that
increasing the presence of the arts in all subjects will increase motivation,
relevance and achievement for our students.  We are designing  curriculum
that is integrated in and through the arts, which includes the academic core
subjects as well as elective offerings.

Our vision is to create a comprehensive school program for a maximum
enrollment of 400 students in grades 9-12, including students who are
eligible for special education language support, with the opportunity
to learnin and through the arts, making strong connections between
allareas of the school curriculum, increasing their motivation to learn.
