After graduating from Tualatin High School, Mrs. Cavanaugh headed north to earn her BA in Theatre and English from Pacific Lutheran University, followed by a Masters in Teaching from Seattle University.  She returned to Portland to start her teaching career at Rowe Middle School, where she taught English and Drama for four years.  When Mrs. Cavanaugh first heard about the MAA charter school, she knew that was where she wanted to teach and was thrilled when an English and Drama position opened up.  She currently teaches half time and spends her other days at home with her son Liam.
